Trailblazing with coloured slip - Tracy-Lee van den Berg Saturday May 24th 9 - 12pm
10 places - Cost $25 (bisque firing included)
Slip decoration is a very old traditional method for decorating pottery. Tracey-Lee will cover decorating methods using a slip trailer/ needle applicator/ soft brushes/ paper resists to create various designs using lines, patterns and/or raised textured surfaces with coloured slip.
Participants will be able to try various techniques on leather hard test tiles which will be bisque fired after the class. Participants will also have an opportunity to create their own colour slip using their own stain which they will take home for further exploration.
Students to bring to workshop:
Needle tool, Medium soft brush,
1 x ceramic stain 50g (ensure it fires to cone 10),
300/400g lidded container – this will be taken home by participant at the end of the workshop with your mixed colour,
What is included for the student during the workshop;
4 Slip colours for use during workshop / Test tiles / Bisque firing by studio (2 week turn around), refreshments.
Wear enclosed shoes and apron, bring notebook and pencil
Keep-cup for refreshments after workshop.

Tracey-Lee has been working with ceramics for over 20 years and has an infinite love for clay materials and experimentation. Tracey-Lee has her own studio where she creates both thrown and hand-built pieces and participates in exhibitions.
