Community Involvement
As part of the program of activities planned for the new Karlup ceramics facility at Atwell House, the South of the River Potters’ Club is in negotiations with a number of community agencies to plan collaborative arrangements for access to the studio facilities. These will include classes, workshops and informal activities.
The following organisations have already expressed interested in collaborating with the South of the River Potters’ Club -
Melville Cares is a community based not for profit organisation that provides support services to help people in need to lead a healthy, independent life. Their support services reach thousands of members in the community to support their independence and quality of life. They can be contacted here.
Youth Focus delivers frontline services and education programs which aim to reduce symptoms associated with suicide, depression, anxiety and self-harm, and build long-term mental wellbeing to help young people reach their full potential.
In addition to their core service offering of free face-to-face counselling, they engage with communities to educate and build awareness about youth mental health issues and suicide prevention. As part of this engagement, they deliver education programs in schools and communities across Western Australia. They are the lead agency for three Headspace Centres across WA.

FremantleMind Inc. is a grass roots community mental health and wellbeing initiative that works across social media and face-to-face mediums. Our vision and passion is to change the way mental health is viewed and strengthened in a community setting.
FremantleMind Inc. aims to be responsive to the local community by providing an online community support forum, in addition to mental health promotion events that are identified as needed by the community.
