Clive Eger
Clive has been a member of South of the River Potters’ Club since the early days at Silas Street. For a long time he concentrated on aesthetically pleasing functional pots, constantly challenged to find the right balance between the aesthetics and the functionality. The jug that doesn’t drip and the teapot that pours cleanly are every potters betes noir. In recent years Clive concentrated on raku fired work decorated with with horsehair, feathers and iron lustre. In 2018 he spent 5 weeks in Rome undertaking a residency at the C.R.E.T.A. ceramics school and studio which has eventually led him towards an entirely new aesthetic and this is reflected in his current work which is decorated with crackle glazes and striking black and white geometric designs.
