An introduction to the exciting process of Raku firing. You will learn about the origins of Raku, suitable ware for Raku and the safety aspects of this process. You will learn about Raku glazes, the Raku firing process and suitable reduction materials as well as the care of Raku pieces after firing.
Participants will be provided with two pots to fire, glazes and firing. You will participate in glaze formulation, glazing and firing and will be able to take home your finished pieces.
What to bring: Enclosed shoes, long trousers, hat, close fitting clothes, drinking water, apron
