Mocha Diffusion workshop

Mocha Diffusion is a traditional decoration technique which uses a base of freshly applied slip upon which a coloured, acidic solution is applied and fine, dendritic formations magically appear which resemble trees, moss and feathers. The technique seems to have originated in England in the 18th century but was also used in France and North America.

In May 2021, a workshop was conducted by Eve Gellatly and Barb Reeve who demonstrated the technique and then encouraged the members to have a go. As you can see from the pictures, it was an exciting and productive workshop and lots of excellent examples of the technique were produced.
