Empty Bowls Project

Empty Bowls is a worldwide movement that raises funds for local charities. In Perth the project raises funds for Foodbank at an annual lunch event held at ChristChurch Grammar School. Local potters from all over Western Australia contribute soup bowls which are sold, filled with soup, at the lunch event. South of the River Potters’ Club has participated in the event for several years. In 2020 the event raised $19,000 for Foodbank.

In 2021 the South of the River Potters’ Club participated again and contributed to the total of 645 soup bowls that were produced by WA potters. The SORPC stall attracted a lot of attention and admiration of the members’ pots - and a few sales too!
