Press plate demo with Cate Cosi, Saturday July 18th

A$55.00
sold out

at 39 Montague Way Coolbellup (Cate’s studio)

9 to 12 noon or 1- 4 pm. Limit of 6 places each session. Cost $55.00

This demonstration will teach how to press mould dinnerware on a pottery wheel using plaster moulds, slabs and extruded coils. The technique demonstrates a great way to produce dinnerware of an even size and thickness which can be easily stacked when finished.

There will be an explanation of how the moulds were produced and a comparison of homemade moulds with those produced by a professional mould maker. The all important ‘mother form’ which is used to make new moulds, will be viewed and discussed. There will not be an opportunity for a ‘hands on ‘experience but each participant will be able to take home either a pasta plate or a dinner plate made of LGH clay. Cate will bisque fire them so they will be ready for pick up within a few days.

You can glaze and high fire them at your own convenience. We do have potters who will help with this.
